By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, last night. Mr Pirani addressed his first meeting in the Hutt electorate last night, at Potoue. There was considerable interruption at times, but ho was given a fair hearing. A vote of thanks and confidence was carried with dissent.
Mr Arthur Atkinson, solicitor, and Mr David McLaren, wharf laborer, wero yesterday nominated for Wellington City. Thames, last night.
Mr Lucas, a candidate for the Thames against Mr McGowan, addressed the electors and announced himself as a Liberal Labor candidate. He generally approved of the Government’s policy. Ho severely condemned the mining legislation, especially that enabling companies to enjoy years of protection, also enabling them to hold largo areas. A vote of thanks was returned.

Messrs William Brock and Albert Ager wero nominated yesterday for Ashburton.
