It was a flno morning and some useful work was done. Cannio Ghiel and Glenaladale worked over a mile and threequartors at good paco. Dundas did half a milo in SOsccs. Haloerdier took two rounds of tho plough, tho last four furlongs in COsccs, finishing well. Pallas had a nice gallop over four furlongs in SOsccs. Porirua and l’ortulla did a good gallop of a mile and a quartor in 2.13. J-, tho first six furlongs in 1.19:]. Porirua finished excellently, making a favorablo impression. Wolbcck beat Canteen ovor half a milo in Loth travelling well. Achilles easily held Glioorka at the end of six furlongs' run in 1.16. Tzaritza and Petrovna moved well over five furlongs, tho last four taking GOsecs. Siege Gun holds a plaeo in the betting firmly, tho best offor being 5 to 2, but to very little money. Ho is sure to start a good favorite. He is very well. Halberdier, Welbeck, Porirua, and Glenaladalo are likely to*make tho race interesting. In tho Hurdles Evening Wonder and Bellman havo a chance, Starshot and King Log in tho Welcome, Exmoor in the Maiden, Bayonet in tho Sapling, Rosemore and Oingo in tho Welter, Magnificent and Clan burn in tho Ladies’ Purse, Lady Lillian, Ghoorkn, Red Gauntlet, and Pallas in tho Stowards.
The latest quotations for the Now Zealand Cup are 5 to 2 Siego Gun, 6 to 1 Halberdier, Porirua, and Nonette, eighths Welbeck and Canteen, tens Tortulla and Glenaladale, fourteens Sirius, fifteen Cannio Chiel, twenty Fakir, twenty-five Punamu.
