MESSAGE FROM KING. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Sydney, Nov. 7. Mr Chamberlain has cabled to the Premier reciprocating the congratulation on the completion of the Pacific Cable. Melbourne, Nov. 7. Tho Governor-General has received a cablo from tho King in which ho states : “ I rejoice to think that in tho Coronation yoar tho union of tho peoplo of this country with thoso beyond the seas is strengthened by another bond.” Tho original messago to tho King reached him via tho west, and occupied ono hour and fivo minutes, while the messago by the east took ono hour and twenty six minutes. Tho Eastern Extension Company explains that it took an hour and twelve minutes to get the message from Suva to Adelaide, and only fourteen minutes between Adeluido and London.
