IMPERIAL BIOGRAPH
MESSRS COOPER AND McDER MOTT’S ENTERTAINMENT.
Judging by the packed house at tho Theatre Royal last evening and tho excellent nature of the programme sub mitted, a successful season is assured to Messrs Cooper and McDermott, who come to Gisborne with an Imperial Biograph depicting the King’s Coronation, grand naval and military views, and concert programme. Last night the programme was a most appropriate one for a Sunday evening, including a series of living pictures illustrating scenes from Mr Wilson Barrett’s popular book “ Tho Sign of the Cross,” as well as a number of other suitable views. The proceeds were devoted to the Hospital funds, and the collection that was taken up amounted to j£lß. At tho conclusion Hia Worship the Mayor, on behalf of the Hospital Trustees, thanked Messrs Cooper and McDermott for their kindness.
The programme to be submitted this evening will be of an attractive and novel charae'er, and should draw a crowded house. A few of the Coronation pictures were shown last evening, and were greatly admired by tho audience. To avoid the crush at the doors, tickets can be obtained at “ The Beehive,” Gladstone Hoad.
