WELLINGTON, last night. Tiie Rev. James Crewes, who is a candidate for Nelson, gave an informal address to the electors to-night, in which he indicated that he was a follower of the Government. He would not split the Liberal vote, and would stand aside if not taken up by the Literal Federation. ODDFELLOWS' MEETING.
The biennial meeting of the Manchester Unity of Oddfellows will be held in Auckland in 1061. POLITICAL ADDRESS.
Mr W. Tuston, a candidate for the Newtown seat, addressed the electors to-night.. He was given a vote of thanks. The candidate criticised in a generally hostile strain, the works of the Government, paying particular attention in this raspect to its labor legislation, and to the amount of money annually spent on the military. He
objected to religious instruction in schools, but would leave the question of Bible reading to be determined by the reierendum,
