KEEN COMPETITION FOR SHEEP

Sydney, Oct. 16. At the Homebush sales 21,000 sheep were yarded. The entries included a fair number of New Zealand stock. Buyers mustered in unusually strong force, many being from the country centres. Competition was keen for all lines, prices ruling very high. New Zealand crossbred wethers sold • from 26s 6d to 34s 6d ; ewes, from 22s 6d to 30s 6d. Of 727 cattle yarded a good proportion were New Zealand. Prices were easier than at last sale.
