SALE OF POISONS. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, last night. At the Police Court this morning a number of chemists were fined for committing a breach of the regulations under the Sale of Poisons Act. 1871. His \\ orship said he would accept tho explanation that the defendants were not aware of the regulations. Defendants were each fined Is and costs. A BISHOr WANTED.

AFTER THE WAR, At a meeting of the Patriotic Fund Committee this morning a lump sum wub given in two cases to mothers who had lost their sous, and a further grant was made to a mother whose son has been seriously ill for some time past. It was decided to provide an invalid chair for a trooper whose spine was injured. In all cases where necessary, so far, temporary relief has been granted, and tho question of the permanent disposal of the balance of the fnnd will be taken into consideration shortly. AN EPIDEMIC. Dr Hooper, in a report to tho Hospital Board, said there has been an epidemic of gastro enteritis, attacking throe and four in a family in somo instances, in others only one in tho house would havo it. Influenza was prevalent as well, and being unable to account for this epidemic otherwise, he is of opinion it is a form of influenza attacking the stomach and the bowels.
