MOCK PARLIAMENT.

AN EXCHANGE OF COMPLIMENTS (Special to Times.) Wellington, last night. Tho Appropriation Bill was passed by tho Legislative Council and received by the Houso of Representatives at 9.45 p.m., and was immediately Bent on to tho Governor for signature.

The galleries were crowded while a mock Parliament was held, with Mr F. Pirani in the chair. The Bill was received with tho Governor’s signature by tho House at 10 p.m., and the session of 1902 closed. Sir Joseph Ward congratulated tho Speaker on the way he had conducted the business of the session.

The Speaker, in returning thanks to tho Acting-Premier and the House, said that during his forty years in Parliament, ho had never seen the business conducted and go through so smoothly as it had dono this session.

Sir Joseph Ward, on behalf of fellowmembers, wished Messrs Carncross, Pirani, and HutchesoD, members, who do not intend contesting tho General Election, good luck and prosperity in their private life.

The House then formally adjourned, tho customary division to record members’ names in Hansard resulting : For the adjournment 21 against. 19.
