LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL. By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, Saturday. The Council met at 11.30. The Government Railways- Superannuation Fund Bill passed its final stages, an amendment by the lion. Mr Jcnkinson to remit (lie Bill for the purpose ot increasing tiie representative of llm second division on the Board, being lost by 21 to 7. The Nelson Harbour Board Bill and Victoria Site Bill passed (heir final stages. 'Pile following Bills were read a .second time : Savings Banks Profits, Law Societies, Post and Telegraph Department, Land Income Tax, and Kauri Gum Industry. The Council resumed at 2.30. Tho Cook and other Islands Government Bill, Local Bodies Loan Bill, Pacific Cable Extension Bill, Australian Naval Defence Bill passed through Committee without amendment, and were read a third time and passed. The Banks’ Holiday Bill and Inspection of Machinery Bill passed through Committee Ai, fi.3o the Council adjourned until 2 ; 30 a.m on Monday.
