QUEENSLAND WANTS TO GET OUT. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Brisbane, Sept. 25. A public meeting passed a resolution that in view of the unworkable and oppressive character of the Federal Constitution, Queensland petitions bo presented to the Federal and Imperial Parliaments, praying that Queensland be struck out of the Constitution unless relief be granted to | the State from the difficulties which now surround it. A league was formed to promote the views of the meeting. The deputation presented the resolution to the Premier, whose reply denoted sympathy. He ;.said that they should endeavor to change the representation next Federal election. If the next Government did not legislate with more regard to the State’s interest then an attempt could be made to sever the connection.
