FATAL ACCIDENTS.

A FERRYMAN DROWNED.

[By Telegraph—Press Association.] Auckland, last night. I To-day, a telegram was received that Arthur Wavbrick, ferryman at Ohiwa river, Opotiki, had been washed out to sea and drowned. Deceased was employed by the County Council to ferry passengers across the mouth of tho river, which is nearly a mile broad at this point. The accident is believed to have been caused by the strong current and the heavyweather. Deceased was a splendid boatman. A man lost his life some five months ago while engaged in the same J work.
