EXPECTANTS MAKE A PLEA. By Telegraph— Pres- Association. Wellington, last night. A deputation from tbs Wellington District Law Society waited on the ActingPremier this morning and represented that in the opinion ot ail law societies in the colony the present salaries of Judges of the Supreme Court are insufficient. The minimum salaries, in the opinion of the deputation, should be £2OOO for puisne judges, and £2500 for Chief Judges. Sir Joseph Ward promised to lay the matter before the Cabinet. Personally, ha thought the salary of the Chiei Justices was too low.
