The debate on Merriman’s resolution denouncing tbo suspension of the Constitution was resumed in Parliament. Mr Graaf, one of the Bond members, thankod Mr Chamberlain for his attitude of reconciliation. He added that Sir Gordon Sprigg had the newspapers and capitalists against him. He had bohaved as a groat Englishman and upheld British traditions. Mr Sauer rejoiced that a new era was dawning, modoratc Dutchmen and moderate Englishmen combining to put extremists in thoir proper placo.
