WEDDING BELLS.

A very pretty wedding took place yesterday afternoon at tho residence of MrT. McGregor, Makauri, when Mr Major H. Clark, second son of Mr M. H. Clark, Midhurst, Taranaki, was married to Miss Flora McGregor, eldest daughter of Mr T. McGregor, of tho Kia Ora Factory. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Robt. Gardiner. The bride, who was attended by Misses Ruth Dunne and Violet McGregor, wore a pretty dress of cream lustre, with satin trimmings, and also tho orthodox wreath and veil, and carried a handsome shower bouquet. Tho bridesmaids were attired in pretty dresses of white muslin, with pale blue trimmings, and also carried pretty shower bouquets. The groomsmen were Messrs D. McGregor and W. Witters. The bridegroom’s present to the bride was a handsome gold brooch set with diamonds and rubies, and to the bridesmaids pretty gold brooches. A large number of guests partook of afternoon tea after the ceremony, and the evening was spent in music, games, and dancing until a late hour, when the guests wended their way homewards, after the singing of 11 Auld Lang Sync ” and cheers for Mr and Mrs McGregor. The large number of presents received testified to tho popularity of the young couple. Mr and Mrs Clark left for Gisborne about 6 o’clock, amid a shower of rice and roses. They will spend their honeymoon in Auckland,

A pleasant social was held at Toangaon Thursday evening last, when Mr L. Steele, on behalf of the Toanga Picnic Party, presented Miss McGregor and Mr Clark, on the occasion of their approaching marriage, with an occasional table, majalica flowerpot, and a dinner set. In making the presentation Mr Steele referred to th@ good feeling and esteem that had always existed between the recipients and the rest of the party, and asked their acceptance of the presents as a token of their esteem and good wishes for their future happiness. Mr Clark modestly replied on behalf of Miss McGregor and himself, thanking them for the handsome and useful presents. Cheers were then given for the young couple. During the evening games, dancing and music were indulged in until a late hour, and the proceedings broke up with a hearty vote of thanks to Mr and Mrs Cameron and the singing of "Auld Lang Syne,”
