The South Canterbury Jockey Club’s spring meeting opened at Waahdykc racecourse this morning. Tho weather was fair, and the attendance large. Following are the results : Timaru Hurdles.—Zither 1, Skipper 2. Tito Master 3. Skipper led to the home turn, whon Zither took command and won by three lengths. Time 3.24, divs. L2 14s and LI 14s. President’s Welter.—Narcissus 1, Catherine Cordon 2, Clanburn 3. Won by a couple of lengths. Time 1.311, div. L2 6s.

Timaru Handicap.—Count of Kolmar 1, Magnificent 2, Somerlcd 3. Won by a length. Time 2.4, div. X‘4 3s. Steeplechase: Te Kooti 1, Bollbird 2. Two others fell. Won by a head. Time, 5.58 ; div., L 4 17s. Trot : Van 1. Wilks 2, Jubert 3. Twelve others started. Won easily. Time, 4.14. Divs., LG 15s and 15s.

Flying Handicap: Itosemero 1, Weibeck 2, Whirlwind 55. Five others ran. Won by two lengths. Divs., £5 9s and 12s. The sum of L2IGS was put through the totalisator, an increase of Lho2 10s overlast meeting.
