Tho Lancashire team consisted of Maclaren, Stunning, Garnett, Hollins, Ward, Tyldosloy, Hollows, Jansen, Littlewood, Radcliffe, Kermode. Tho weather was fine, and there was a good wicket and largo attendance. Jones, Cartor, and Howell wero omitted from the Australian team. The Australians baited first, and made 138. Lancashire have lost one wicket for 47.
Trumpcr wag caught by Stanning m a few minutes. Ono for 10- Duff anti Hill carried the total to 27, when the former rotirod, caught and bowled by Littlewood. Noblo got leg-before in the same over. Thrco for 27. The pitch proved soft, lading played forward to Kermode, after making 10. Four for 54. Hill and Armstrong got 77 in sight, when Hill was bowled by liormode. Five for 77. Hopkins did not alter the total, being bowled by Kermode’s third ball. Armstrong was tempted to play forward to Littlewood, and lost his wicket. Seven for 81. Frumblo scored five, and was then caught by Kormodo. Eight for 91. Gregory and | Kelly livened matters a little for the Australians, and piled up 45 before lunch. On resuming Kelly was bowled. Nine for 134. Saundors, tho last man, joined Gregory, but Kormodo dismissed him for four. Tho scores are : Australia —First Innings.
