INSPECTOR OF HOSPITALS.
By telegraph—Press Association— Wellington, last night. . Dr Macgregor, Inspector-General of Hospitals and Asylums, returned from a visit ;to England by tho Karamea today. SURVEYORS’ PARTY.
Nine surveyors, selected by the New Zealand Government at the request of the Imperial authorities for work on the Gold Coast, West Africa, leave Wellington in the morning for Auckland, from whence they take departure on Friday by the Ventura. The party comprises T. C. Dennison (Oamaru), N. Hazzard (Waihi), Leonard and Percy Webb (Masterton), Fredk. Jordan (Auckland), J. Stevenson (Christchurch), Reginald Webb (Napier), George Joyce (Invercargill), A. Stretton (Thames). The Acting-Premier and the Minister for Lands bade the party farewell to-day at a gathering in Parliament Buildings, and expressed cordial good wishes for their success in their new sphere of work. SHEEP FOR SYDNEY.
The steamer Hawea leaves about midnight for Sydney with 2250 sheep and 169 cattle.
