PARLIAMENTARY.
LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL. By Tolegraph—Press Association. Wellington, last night. The Council met at 2.30. Tho Fisheries Conservation Bill was recommitted, and the clause giving holders of fishing licenses the right to enter upon private property for the purpose of fishing was eliminated by 19 to 6.
Tho Council resumed at 8 p.m. In Committee on tho New Zealand University Bill a clause giving Chambers of Commerce power to elect two members of the Senate was struck out, as also was the clause appointing the Inspector-General of Schools a statutory member of the Senate. Tho Imprest Supply Bill passed all stages. HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES. The House met at 2.30 p.m. An Imprest Supply Bill for £473,000 was introduced by Governor’s message. A long discussion took place on the Bill, covering a large variety of subjects, and it had not concludod at the 5,30 adjournment. The House resumed at 7.30. After a discussion lasting five hours, the Imprest Supply Bill passed all its stages. The Bank Holidays Bill and Statutes Repeal Bill passed the final stages.
