A FOOLISH MAN.

In reference to the capsizing of the ketch Felicity outside the harbor a few weeks ago, it transpired that Thomas Reeves, A. 8., brought the vessel singlehanded from Motueka by sea after caulking up the seams with soap. She had been lying on the beach exposed to the sun and wind for many months, and was then purchased to send to Nelson for repairs in the manner stated. On arrival outside the ketch anchored, but a stiff southerly sprang up. The seams started, and she capsized, Reeves having a narrowescape. He signalled with his hat, and the steamer Lily towed in the ketch, while the pilot boat rescued Reeves. Reeves is said to have had some provisions for the journey, but no water. The Court found Reeves guilty of a rash act, and ordered him to pay La towards the cost of the enquiry,
