AN OFFICER’S DEATH.
BIAJOR GENERAL SCHAW.
[By Telegraph—Press Association.] Woffington, last night. Blajor-Gonoral Sehaw, formerly a Royal Engineer, died in Woffington last night, aged 73. Ho served in tho Crimoa, and occupied several importiyit military positions at Homo. Whon ho retired in 1887 ho was Inspector-Goncral of Fortifications and Secretary of tho Royal Defenco Committee. Somo years ago ho advised the Government of Now Zealand as to the defences of the colony. Tho cause of death was hoart discaso.
