The following cable has been received from the Agent-General, dated London, nth instant The mutton market is steady. The average price to-day for Canterbury mutton is 3 7-Sthsd, Dunedin, Southland, and Wellington Meat Export Company’s mutton, 3?+d ; other North Island, 3 5-Sthsd. The lamb market is firm. The average price to-day for New Zealand lamb, Canterbury brand, is 4 7-Sthsd : otber lamb, 4, 3 /d ; legs, The beef market is quiet; New Zealand hinds, 5 3-Bthsd ; fores, 3 --Stbsd. The hemp market is firm. Good fair Wellington grade, on spot to-day, L 33 10s. The stock is 734 tons, against 346 last year. The cocksfoot seed market is quiet. New Zealand 171 b standards, 48s.
