MYSTERIOUS ARREST.

PLOTTING IN BUSSIA..

St. Petersburg, July 2. More light is sadly needed on the my- ' steriouß arrest of Count Wiclopolski and i his two beautiful young sisters at the Bus- , sian frontier on their way from the Biviera to Warsaw. Both of tho girls are well-known in the Polish aristocratic circles of Warsaw and Cracow- Tho Count was a great friend of tho Governor-General of Poland, and more important still of the Grand Duke Serge of Moscow, the present Czar’s undo. Arrived at the frontier, ho was directed by a gendarme to follow him into a private room, where he was told ho must remain a prisoner until tho gendarmerie captain came. Tho captain presently arrived and told the Count he regretted it, but he should have to search him. Wiclopolski objected, and the captain telegraphed to St. Petersburg for instructions. The reply from St. Petersburg was “ Search him at all hazards.” Ho was searched and compromising documents were found on him, amongst them several “ appeals,” written by tho Bussian revolutionary party abroad to their compatriots at home, calling on them to ’agitate for the repeal of various obnoxious laws and for tho reform of the Government.
