Nelson Works.

SECOND REPORT ON DRAINAGE

(By Telegraph —Press Association.) Nelson, last night. The Nelson City Council last night, by 7 to 5, decided to obtain a second report on drainage, with outline plans, from Mr Leslie Reynolds of Dunedin. The Council has obtained a =cheme from Mr Mestayer, of Wellington, for erecting septic tanks on the mud flat, to cost £49,000. There is a strong feeling in the city in favor of a second scheme to enable a choice to be made, also preference is expressed for a scheme emptying beyond the harbor into the sea, instead of on the mud flat. The harbor improvement works, so far as the operation of cutting of the Boulder Bank, will be definitely begun in November. A dredge is now being constructed in Dunedin, and will be put together here. The actual cutting of the bank will be made in March.
