Trouble at Waihi.
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) Waihi, last night. The case of A. Y. Ross v. W. J. Geddes, claiming a tine of Dot) and deprivation of office as a municipal councillor for voting in a matter in which ho was personally interested, was heard yesterday. The charge was that being a member of the Waihi Borough Council he took part in a discussion as to inserting an advertisement warning men against coming to Waihi for work, in several papers, including the Observer, of which Mr Geddes is one of the proprietors. A second charge was of unlawfully voting. Both cases collapsed. In the first the witnesses for the prosecution contradicted each other, and defendant was not called on for a defence. The second case was dismissed the Mayor and Geddes wera heard. Costs were given against plaintiff, and the S.M. granted a certificate of dismissal on the merits,
