REFRIGERATING COMPANY.
A BAD YEAR FOR FATTENING
By Telegraph—Press Association. Dunedin, last night. Tho annual report of the directors of tho New Zealand Refrigerating Co. states that during the year 09,141 carcases of mutton and 0(3,810 of lamb passed through the works, and in addition 221,1 head of cattle were slaughtered and frozen for export-. This is a considerable shrinkage on the previous year. The year's operations resulted in a loss XTIO7. Tiic season has been the worst lor many years for fatten ing, and not much mere than half the usual number of lambs have been available for export. But for losses on meat shipped during the previous year, which has since come to account, a fair dividend could have been paid.
