The first annual meeting of the Auckland Employers’ Association was held tonight. The'report and balance-sheet were adopted. Speeches were delivered by the retiring President (Mr *L C. Mackyi, Mr Booth (President- of the Canterbury Employers' Association:, and Mr Lc-yland, on the' work of such Associations, and the necessity of federation of Provincial Associations ; also as to the need for taking steps to secure more adequate representation of their interests in Parliament, j Messrs J. C. Macky, A. Clark, T. White, and the Secretary (Mr J. F. Templar) were appointed delegates to the coming Conference at Wellington.
