THE OFFICIAL INTIMATION,

SATURDAY, AUGUST 9.

(Per Press Association.') WELLINGTON, last night.

Sir Joseph Ward announced in the

House this afternoon that the Government had received official information

that the Coronation would lie held on August the 9th. The Government had considered the requests to celebrate the occasion on Monday, hut deemed it inadvisable to do so. The holiday would he observed on Saturday all over the colony, and the House would adjourn from Thursday to Tuesday. The illuminations would he held on Saturday, evening,

CORONATION BALL, (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, last night. The Governor lias now. fixed August 6th as the date for the Coronation Ball. An open reception of tiic citizens of Wellington is to he held on the 9th, and a party to the sailors in port at a later date.
