BEATEN IN OUR OWN MARKET. FOREIGNERS REAP THE BENEFIT. By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright London, July 22. The British Trade Commission in South Africa reports a surprising influx of Gorman traders.
British traders aro only beginning to awake. Americans aro alert, especially in regard to specialisation of trade lines. One traveller is seeking orders for files alone, others similarly with other specialities. English firms expect a traveller to deal with twenty articles, and the rosult is that the market is not thoroughly worked.
The Houston line’s freight for lino Manchester goods to South Africa is fixed at ten shillings a ton.
