Fat cattlo : 218 were yarded, including a number of good bullocks and a lot of useful cows and heifers. Tho sale was on a par with last week. Best beef realised 22s 6d to 25s 6d ; others, 19s to 22s 6d ; prime bullocks, JEIO to £l2 7s ; steers, £6 to £9 10s; extra primo heifers, JE9 to £l3 10s; others, .£5 5s to £8 10s ; cows, £5 lo £1 os.

Stores and dairy cattlo woro iu small supply. Stores, good ISmth steers, £3 18s; 15 to IS months old cattle, £2 2s to £2 3s fid ; dry cows, £1 17s to £l. Fat sheep : About 3000 wero yarded, mostly of good quality. There were buyers for shipment to Sydney, alive and dead. Prices hardened for heavy-weights, and freezing buyors operatod more freely. Heavy wethers brought 19s Gd to 22s ; freezors, 15s Gd to 18s 4d, and up to 19s fid for a nice line of 240 from Oamaru; light wetliors and owes brought 14s 6d to 15s 3d ; heavy owes, 15s to 18s ; others,

11s to 14s. Fat lambs : 400 wore yarded, mostly good sorts. Thcro was a better demand, and nearly all were taken for export at Ids 9d to 14s ; a few smaller sorts to butchers at 11s fid to 12s fid, Store sheep : 3030 wero yarded, mostly wethers and hoggets, and there was better demand for all classes. Forward wethers brought 12s fid to 13s 9d ; 1000 South Canterbury wethers and ewes wero taken by an Ashburton grazier at 12s 10s ; good sound-mouthed owes, 12s 9d to 14s; aged, 5s 2d ; hoggets, Os to 9s lOd. Pin-s : About 350 wero yarded, and there was a good sale for all sorts. Baconcrs brought 38s to 48s, to 60s for extra heavy, or 4d per lb ; porkers brought 22s to 345, or 4d to 4jd per lb ; large stores brought 16s to 21s ; smaller, 12s to 15s ; suckers and weaners, 7s to 9s fid.
