The Wellington Harbor Board aud Corporation Empowering Act, 1898, Amendment Bill was killed by 30 to 2-1, "The House rose at 5.30 p.m. Tho House resumed at 7.30.

Mr Wfillis’ School Attcndanco Act, 1901, Amendment Bill, which proposed to givo the Court discretionary power to dismiss informations for non-attondanco at school, was thrown out on tho voices.

Mr Gilfeddcr moved tho second roading of tho Inspectors of Schools Bill, to place inspectors of public schools under control of tho Department of Education. Tho Hon. Mr Mills urged that tho Bill should he withdrawn, und Government would consider the matter during tho recess.

Midnight.—Tho debato on Mr Gilfcddor’s Bill proceeded at great length. Tho general opinion of tho speakers wa> against tho Bill, it being contended that thcro was no necessity at present to centralize tho control of inspectors over the heads of tho Education Boards.
