RETRENCHMENT.

A Government schemo of reduction of salaries has been tabled in tire Assembly. It is proposed to reduce Ministers from £IOOO to £SSO ; members from £3OO to £250; civil servants, not exceeding £IOO, by five per cent.; not exceeding £450, by ten per cent.; over that 15 per cent.
