Fire at Ashburton.

[BT TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Ashburton, last night. Shortly after eight o’clock to-night a firo broke out in tho upstairs portion of a two-storey wooden building in Burnett street, occupied as a fish shop and dwelling by G. H. Jewitt. The building was an old one, and the fire got a firm hold before tho arrival of the brigade, very little of Jewitt’s goods being saved. The building was completely guttod. The origin of tho fire is not known. Tho building was owned by T. Bullock, and was insured for £lls in the South British, and the contents for .£75 in tho Victoria.
