MUNICIPAL CONFERENCE.
(Per Press Association). WELLINGTON, fast night. The Municipal Conference this morning passed a resolution representing to liie Government that the representation. of contributing local authorities on Hospital and Charitable Aid Boards is- inadequate, and also that the expenditure of Councils in equipping and maintaining lire police and salvage corps should; be legalised) A proposal for a scheme of guarantee and superannuation of municipal officers was referred to the Executive Com inittee to report- on at- next Conference. it was resolved that the Government he asked to introduce a Bill applying the betterment principle to all boroughs. A committee appointed to report) as to the height of buildings recommended that the height or any bdilding hereafter erected shall not exceed, ffil feet in a street ill) feet or more wide; in streets less than 0!) feet, wide such buildings shall not cx-l ceed 00 feet. The report, which was adopted, also suggested various precautions against fire.
