(By Telegraph—Press Association.] Nelson, last night. Dr. Masou, Chief Health Officer, is on a visit hero for tho purpose of inspecting and solecting a site for a hospital for infectious diseases. POULTRY SHOW. The Poultry Show opened this evening. Tho exhibits wero more numerous than last year, and tho quality really good. Mr G. A. Mace judged most of the poultry ; Mr A. Smith, of Christchurch, and Mr J. B, McKenzie, of Wellington, the pigeons, and Mr A. Smith the canaries. Mr F. C. Hack, of Christchurch, won tho ohampionsbip for Wyandotts ; Mr McQuarrie, of Nelson, and Mr Faller, of Wellington, taking tho championship for pigeons, all other championships being won by Nelaonians. In poultry, Hack, of Christchurch, wou one special, three firsts, aud three seconds; Bradley, of Wellington, ono first, one second, one third, and one commended. Thompson and Hinoh)iff9, of Wellington, took one second and two thirds; Hendry, of Christchurch, took one second and ono third ; Alpo, of Wellington, ono special, four firsts, one second, aud one third; S.ykes, of Christchurch, took one special, three firsts, one second, one third. In pigeons Fuller, of Wellington, took one special aud three firsts.
