PUBLIC HEALTH ACT. [ux TELEGRAPH. PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Dunedin, last night. A prosecution under tho Public Health Aot regulations took place to-day, when an American traveller was charged with failing to report himself. The Health Officer had sent a telephone message, but it was alleged that the messago was bungled at tho hotol. Defondant pleaded ignorance of the law, but Mr Carew. S.M., while taking that into consideration, held that defendant was guilty of neglect in not reading the license issued to him, and imposed a fine of £5, and costs .61 Bs. ASHBURTON FLOUR MILLS. John Mill, of Port Chalmers, is the purchaser of the Ashburton Roller Mills, tho price being between eight and ten thousand pounds. Tho deposit on tho purchase was paid to day. The now proprietor hopes to get the mills at work very shortly, and in less than two months expects to have about 150 hands employed.
