LATE COAST NEWS.
It was not our intention to publish the Times to-day, and therefore the Coastal odition was issued a day earlier. Owing to the great anxiety of the public as to the condition of His Majesty, it was decided subsequently to issue this morning, so that our readers should have the latest bulletins by cable. FOOTBALL MATCH. The following players will represent the Waipiro Football Club in the match against Waipiro to-day: Full-back, Painter ; three-quarters, Johnston, Hurumanu ; five-eighths, half, Eangi; wing forwards, Warren, Tuckwell; centre forwards, Wilson, Grace ; forwards, Hura, Campbell, Fox, Manual, Tamepo ; emergencies, Farr, Morgan, Wi Eanoa, White, Tuahine.
WEATHEE ON COAST. Our Tuparoa correspondent advised us last night that heavy rain had been falling throughout the afternoon and evening, with not much indication of it clearing. Tho ball to have been held at that place had to be postponed until Friday evening. Our Waipiro correspondent telegraphed last evening :—“ The weather is fearful, and there is little prospect of the Coronation festivities taking place. The sports and concert at Port Awanui have been postponed, and also the ball at Tuparoa.”
FAEMEES’ UNION. A meeting was held at the Tolago Bay Hotel on Tuesday evening, when it was 'decided to form a branch of tho Farmers’ Union. Mr W. F. Somervillo presided, and after explaining the object of the meeting, introduced Mr Lissant Clayton, Secretary of tho Poverty Bay Executive, who delivered an interesting spoech. The following officers were appointed : Chairman Mr W. F. Somerville, secretary Mr W. F. Halo, treasurer Mr W. Beeves, auditor Mr J. B. Morris, committee Messrs H. Oldfield, Jas. Benson, G. Spence, W. Lockwood, and E. Boland. Tho formation of a branch of the Union on the Coast was much needed, and as the Executive is a strong one, thoy should bo able to do a great deal of good work. q SHIPPING. o Tho Omaporo is duo hero on Saturday, v but it is not likely she will reach Coastal O ports before Monday. The sohooner Aotea will sail for East Coast ports on Saturday evening. From Gisborne tho Awanui proceeds to the mills for timber.
