EIGHTY THOUSAND POUNDS TO BE SPENT.

[bt telegraph, press association.) New Plymouth, last night. The poll taken to-day on the loan proposals of tho Borough Council, totalling £BO,OOO, the proposals were all carried by a decisive majority, as follows :—Repayment of existing £29,000 loan, carried by 714 to 21 ; water works and electric lighting, to which it is proposed to devote £24,000, was carried by 714 to 35 ; streets, upon which it is proposed to expend £16,500, was carried by 721 to 21 ; drainage, at a cost of £9OOO, was carried by 71S to 30 ; public baths, £ISOO, was carried bv 650 to SI. Tho results was greeted with cheers.
