THE LAND BOARD.

(Special to Times.) Napier, last night. The Board granted Ann and Margaret Fraser exemption from the improvement clause in respect of sections 17 and 18, block 3, Motu district, on account of the valuable timber growing thereon, if timber could be disposed of in the near future.

The Cook County Council were granted a certificate authorising that thirds from sections 2 and 3, block 10, WhaDgara district, be used in payment of interest for a loan raised for the purpose of bridging the river near the said sections. The following transfers were sanctioned : G. B. S. Morrison to Shanks Bros., section 2, block 14, Patatahi, and section 1, block 2, Nuhaka North; Wiripeno Hamanu to E. Stormer, section 3, block 17, Nuhaka ; Catherine Morrin to Harry Skelton, section 3, A block, Nuhaka ; Timi Mete to Munro and Gillanders, section 3, block 13, Nuhaka North; Rewi Tarewa to Munro and Gillanders, section 4, block 13, Nuhaka North. It was decided to notify six settlers that if their July payments now in arrears were not paid before the next meeting of the Board their leases will be declared forfeited.
