PRESENTATION TO BISHOP COWIE.

(By Telegraph—Press Association,) Auckland, last night. A private movement was originated about two weeks ago for the purpose of presenting His Lordship Bishop Cowie with a purse of sovereigns on the twentythird anniversary of his consecration, on theJ29th inst., and met with considerable success. The resignation of the Bishop alters the position of affairs, and the committee have now decided to make the movement a public one. The presentation is to be to Bishop and Mrs Cowie. Bishop Cowie’s resignation is to take effect in September. The sum of £3OO has already been collected privately for the presentation.
