THE PARNELL TRAGEDY
PARKER BEFORE THE COURT,
(By Tolcgraph—Press Association.) Auckland, last night. At the Polico Court to-day William John Parker appeared to answer the following charges :—That on May 26th, at Parnell, ho did attempt to murder Eliza both Martin, his son William Bruce Parker, and his wife Susan Parker ; also hat he did attempt to commit suicide. The accused, who showed thoj mark of a bullet in his right temple, walked into the dock without assistance, and was quiet in his demeanour. Sub-Inspector Mitchell said ho would ask for a remand for eight days. The injured persons were still inmates of thsHosdilal, and they wero not yet sufficiently recovered to be romoved. Tho Hospital authorities had advised him that they would bo ready to bo discharged in ton Accused was therefore remanded until the 17th inst.
