Messrs Common, Shelton and Co. report .—There was a fair attendance at ■' our monthly stock sale at Waerengaa • hika yesterday, but bidding was very slack for sheep; cattle were in good demand. We sold over 2000 sheep out of an entry of 2800, most of these being sold privately after the sale. Our entry of cattle was a small one. The following prices were realised: Springing heifers, up to ±7; t heifers in calf, £5 2s 6d ; three-yeav-old steers (light), £5 ss; two-tooth wethers (small), 7s 6d to 8s; a nice line of 1200 full-mouthed ewes, in fine condition, brought 5s 3d ; culls, from Is to 3s 6d. Messrs Wyllio and Mason report having held their usual monthly stock sale at the Waerenga-a-hika yards on Thursday. Bidding was slow under the hammer, except for good lines of stoers. Wo sold forward 24 to 3-year-old steers, in forward condition, at £5, i£s 15s, and up to £6 Is. The cattle which realised £6 Is wore almost light beef, and required only a little good feed to make them good. m Our yarding of sheep were good lines of wethers and owes, but did not sell readily. Our next sale is set down for Thursday, July 3rd. . •. j Messrs Dalgety and Co., Limited, re* port the following cable from London, under dato June sth:—“At the tallow sales yesterday there were 1450 tons offered and 81 tODS sold. There are no buyers except at a decline of 1 to 14 per Murray, Roberts and Co. have received the following cable from London, . dated 31st May“ Sales have closed with rates practically unchanged. During the last few days market irregular. Compared with highest point, market weaker. Compared with opening rates, merino, crossbred fine, and scoured advanced 2£to 5 per cent. Crossbred coarse to medium, market shows no change, geld over, 19,000 bales."
