DUNEDIN NEWS.
[By Telegraph—Press Association.] Dunedin, last night. At tho Supreme Court to-day another of the paint-stealing cases was disposed of. John Walker and Samuel Thomas Bolton were charged with stealing two gallons of paint from the Union Company. In tho case of Bolton evidonce was given that ho was working at St Clair on the day that the theft was alleged to have taken place, and the jury returned a verdict of not guilty against both accused. Two young men named Howard and Myers, wero charged with stealing tho contents of a till in a suburban hotel.' At the close ‘of the case for the Crown the jury returned, by the Judge’s direction, a verdict of not guilty so far as Myors was concerned. The caso against Howard is not concluded.
The memorial tablet erected by the expupils of the Kensington school to the lato Sergt. W. L. Moore, of the Sixth Contingent, a son of the head master, was unveiled to-day.
