PROCLAMATION OF PEACE. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) Wellington, last night. Sir Joseph Ward has made arrangements which will enable the news of the proclamation of peace to be flished from one end of the colony to the other immediately upon receipt.

DEATH OF A NEW ZEALANDER A cable from South Africa announces the death from enteric, at Vryhurg, of Private D. A. Cameron, of the G Squadron of the Eighth Regiment of New Zealand Mounted Infantry. A FUNERAL. At Pakarakathe funeral of the late Mrs Henry Williams took place this afternoon. It was very largely attended by Europeans and Maoris. The coffin was borne from the house by Natives.
