DOG TRIAL TROPHIES.
Tho Waiapu dog trial cups aro at prosent on view at Mr W. Good's, Gladstone Road, and have been much admired by all who havo inspected thorn. WEATHER ON THE COAST.
Our Waipiro correspondent telegraphed last night: “ A heavy south-west bustei set in here at 9 o’clock this morning, and continued with gieat fury until the afternoon, when tho sea bee line smoother. A number of native boats were out fishing in the morning, and some anxiety was
felt for their sufoty,.but they fortunately turned up during tho afternoon. Very cold, wintry weather is being experienced along tho coast, with heavy frosts at places. Tho sea is much calmer this evening, and tho Auckland steamer should have a good trip down.” ACCIDENT AT WAIPIRO. A young man namod H. J. Verrall, whilst riding from Waipiro to Mukartki station on Saturday last, fell from his horse and broke his leg. Tho accident fortunately happened wnen Mr Verrall was close to the homestead, and assistance was soon to hand. The young man was attended by Dr. Davis, of Waipiro, under whose carpful treatment he is making excellent progress. HORSES WANTED.
Mr W. F. Sinclair leaves Gisborno today for tho coast for tho purposo of buying horses. He is prepared to purchaso sound, eobb.y horses and ponies in good condition, Mr Sinclair will bo in Tolago Bay on Friday, May 30th, and Toltomaru Saturday, 31st.
