Steinacker’s Horse captured four riders conveying despatches from Europe to Boer generals. Two were shot, and the despatches secured.

Commandant Lannerin, when captured recently, told an officer that Sir CampbellBannerman’s speeches had much encouraged the Boers. He wondered that we allowed them.

Mr Bennett Burleigh cables that it is reported that a field cornet and two hundred men have surrendered at Frankfort.

The Norfolk, with New Zealand troopi has arrived at Durban.

Eighty-one of Jack Hindoo's commando surrendered at Balmoral.

Wellington, last night. The Governor is advised that Wm. Howard and Wm. Stanton, of Wanganui, vore dangerously ill of enteric fever at .Vynberg on May 24th. The Acting Minister for Defence has re•eived the following cablegram from Durban, dated May 27th:—The Second Battalion of the Tenth arrived to-day, all well; 21 officers, 481 men, and 550 horses, also 73 details for the Eighth and Ninth.
