A.M.P. SOCIETY.
SATISFACTORY BUSINESS. By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright Sydney, May 23. At the A.M.P. meeting, the Chairman, in a speech, referred to the exceedingly satisfactory business. The surplus was almost the same as last year, but the reversionary bonus tvas somewhat smaller this year. In order to make marketable such properties as fall iuto the hands of the society, and which can be turned to remunerative investments, the directors intend to obtain an amendment of the acts and by laws which prevent improvements on such properties. They strongly opposed the suggestion to strengthen the Board by the addition of directors representing each State. Judging by eminently successful results attained under the present system, they should not lightly set it aside in favor of one which has no experience to recommend it.
Mr Richardson, representing New Zealand, spoke on the motion for adoption.
