ADDINGTON MARKET.

The Addington sales took place to-day. Fat cattle : 204 were yarded, including some prime heavy weights. The trade being over supplied the previous week, beef, especially heavy sorts, eased to 10s 6d to 24s ; prime.bullocks to £l2 I2s 6d, best steers £8 10s to £lO 10s ; others £5 17s 6d to £B. Prime heifers £8 to £8 10s, others £5 5s to £7 10s; heavy cows £7 to £8 7s 6d, others £4 15s to £6 10s.

Fat sheep : 600 yarded, mostly ewes, which were in great demand for freezing, and showed an advance while wethers quite held there own. Freezing wethers were from 15s to 17s 6d, to 19s 6d for extra prime. Freezing ewes, 10s 6d, 14s 6d to 15s 6d ; butchers’ best ewes 12s and 15s, to I7s for extra ; others 7s 5d to 7s Id.

Fat Lambs : 1500 were yarded, including a lot of unfinished. About two-thirds of the entry were taken for export at 10s to 13s 6d ; tegs to 14s; unfinished, weaker, at 6s to 9s 6d. Store sheep : 744 were yarded, mostly secondary wethers and iambs in poor demand. A nice line of forward wethers made 15s ; fair sorts 12s to 13s 6d ; backward 10s 6d to 11s. A few aged ewes brought 4s to 5s 3d, and better to 9s ; forward lambs 7s 6d to 8s 9d, backwards 5s lOd to 7s.

Pigs : Only 200 were yarded, and the shortage caused an advance in the prices for both stores and fats. Baeoners, 34s to 455, or B£d to Bid by weight ; porkers, 20s to 305, ; orSid to 3Jd ; stores 10s 6d to 20s ; suckers and weaners 2s 6d to Bs.
