By Telegraph—Press Association. Napier, last night. Information was received here this morning that the body of the man Win. Brown, who has been missing from Kumeroa for several weeks, was found in the Manawatu river near the latter place this 'itfternobrr.' 1 ’ At the Supreme Court to-day theVbearing of the case of Watts against Clark, glqiin for damages sustained by defendant cutting a ditoh and so causing flood water to flow on to plaintiff’s land, was continued, but no new facts were adduced. The caso will bo concluded to morrow. At the meoting of the Borough Council this evening a proposal to appoint an expert to report upon certain works to bo undertaken by the Council, and for which it is anticipated that a loau of about £50,000 will bo required, was amended, the Council agreeing to have such reports obtained when tho works under consideration have been decided upon. The Mayor was appointed tho Council’s delegate to tho Municipal Conference to be held at Wellington on the 7th July.
