CHAMBER OF COMMERCE.
(Per Press Association). Palmerston North, last night. At a large and representative meeting of the Chamber of Commerce to-night, resolutions were passed urging the Government to make a road to facilitate the transit traffic to Mount Egmont, and erect a licensed hotel on a convenient site there; also urging the Government as to the necessity to complete the Ohura and New Plymouth to To Kuite roads, so as to give access. By invitation, a strongly supported motion promising support was adopted. A further resolution was passed to impross on the Government the urgent necessity for the completion of old and the formation of new roads. Other Chambers are to be asked to 00-operate. The ■question of sea erosion was discussed, and it was decided to take effective action by the erection of groins to proteot the borough property.
