He confessed that they were given to him to throw at King Alfonso. Other fellow-conspirators arrested include a student, a printer, a joiner, and a mason.

Alfonso took oath before the members of the Cortes. The Te Deum was sung in the Francisco Church, where a magnificent medieval procession was arranged. The newspapers which published Don Carlo’s manifesto, emphasising the loss of the colonies, have been suppressed.
